Beth discovered community wood recycling whilst doing a carpentry course at college. Having dreamt about setting up a community project for a long time, she is now living the dream!

Collections Manager

Karl started volunteering soon after we moved in to our premises. Following a long period of unemployment, he helped get the project off the ground. Karl has learned to drive while working for us and now manages our waste wood collection service.




Wor Gazza is guaranteed to brighten up your day with his ‘moroccan sunset’ glow and wicked sense of humour. Gary has been with us since our second year and it’s safe to say he is part of the furniture!



Lead Printer

John is Beth’s Dad and has been involved since day one. He does a little bit of everything at the yard, but as a screen printer by trade, he is focussing his time on setting up our community print room.

Shop Assistant

Matty first came in as a customer and now works in our shop! He’s a local lad who decided to volunteer whilst unemployed. He’s a jack of all trades and is especially good with customers.

Workshop Manager

Nicola ran her own furniture-making business for 8 years and has recently joined our team, which is something we’re extremely happy about. We’re almost as excited about it as she is.


Admin Assistant

Nathan is our volunteer admin lad. He’s a whizz at spreadsheets and canny good with our customers too. Sadly, we can’t quite afford to pay him yet but watch this space for the crowd funder coming soon!


Retail Manager

Claire is the newest member of our team and joins us with over 10 years experience in community development and environmental regeneration projects. She is passionate about interiors, horticulture and sustainable retail.
